The Pineapple Caper is a neighborhood bistro owned and operated by husband and wife team Tammy & Bill Russell. The café opened in April of 2017 as an extension of their food truck and catering business. Tammy has been in the culinary world for most of her life with catering and hosted food parties the focus of her professional career. Bill left the corporate world in early 2018, trading in spreadsheets for spatulas, to join Tammy in the kitchen full time versus just weekends, evenings, and vacation days. On holidays and during the summer you will often see our kids working with us. Ben and Hannah on occasion as they have full time jobs in Boston. Adriana sweats it out in the kitchen full time in the summers and during breaks from her senior year in college.
We purchased our first food truck in 2009 as an extension of the catering service. It allowed for private parties and corporate events with a unique twist. The focus of the truck is specialty grilled cheese, but no menu items are out of bounds when it comes to a private event. We cater with or without the truck with events ranging from intimate dinners and corporate lunches to large weddings and special event parties. We think of our café as an extension of our home and our delighted with many of the new faces and repeat customers we meet on a daily basis.
